Establishing public health genomics in Taiwan through local and global collaborations
活動簡介
During the first two years of the Yushan Young Fellow grant, Dr. Feng has actively established her lab in public health and statistical genomics, with a particular focus on neuropsychiatric disorders. She has secured research grants to support DNA sequencing data generation for epilepsy and multi-omics analysis of depression, fostered partnerships with scholars in the US and Australia to develop novel methods
on genomic risk prediction and cross-population statistical fine-mapping, and given invited talks at various institutions and conferences both in Taiwan and abroad.
Additionally, she has hosted esteemed professors in statistical genetics for visits Taiwan, facilitating scientific exchanges with local experts in precision health. Throughout the years, Dr. Feng has published several scientific articles, including two that highlight the Taiwan Biobank resource and a phenome-wide dissection of the genetic architecture of complex traits in Taiwan (see Figure 1). These publications
have led to new collaborations with various global biobanks. In her role as an educator, Dr. Feng has developed an English-based course focusing on the statistical analysis of genetic data, aiming to nurture the next generation professionals in public health genomics.
