Introduction to the event

1. In the first year, Professor Ruey Tsay has completed four articles with the team members of his Yushan scholar program. He has also set up a number of important research topics to be collaborating with his team members in the second and third years.

2. The completed articles are expected to be published in top journals in statistics, econometrics, or machine learning, thereby increasing the international visibility of National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in the field of data science.

3. Professor Tsay has supervised a number of PhD students in the Institute of Statistics at NTHU, and cultivated academic excellence for NTHU by arranging outstanding PhD students to visit the University of Chicago.

4. Professor Tsay has served as keynote speakers at several international conferences held in Taiwan, thereby raising the reputation of NTHU in the field of data science.

5. Professor Tsay has also arranged a number of internationally renowned statisticians to visit the Institute of Statistics at NTHU, which helps young faculty members and graduate students comply with international standards.
