Introduction to the event

The missions of Professor Kitamori as Yushan Honorary Chair Professor at NTHU are globalization, research promotion, and innovation.  According to these missions, he took following actions in 2020.  

1. Globalization
(1) Conclusion of MOU between NTHU and The University of Tokyo (UTokyo.)
(2) Research collaboration with Lund University (Sweden) for “single cell proteomics.”
(3) Research collaboration with UTokyo for “large scale microfluidic system for desktop chemical plant.”
(4) Relocation of the glass nano-fabrication facility from UTokyo to NTHU, and planning Center of Excellence for Microfludics and Nanofluidics.
(5) Supporting MOST and Japan academic exchange with Vice Minister Tsou.
(6) Appointed to Foreign Member of The Swedish Royal Academy of Science which awards Nobel Prize of Chemistry, Physics, and Economy. 

 

2. Research promotion
(1) PI of SUMMIT program of MOST (Single-Cell and Extracellular Vesicle Proteomics System by Micro/Nano-fluidics)  
(2) Co-supervising 9 students and 1 postdoc.  
(3) Laboratory and infrastructure setting for glass nano fabrication, microfluidics, and nanofluidics.  
(4) Publishing 8 papers and review, giving 7 invited lectures, and organizing one international conference.

 

3. Innovation
(1) Exchange with ITRI and GLORIA
(2) Planning research collaboration between NTHU and two Taiwanese and one Japanese companies.  
(3) Founded one startup company, and planning another spinoff company from NTHU supported by GLORIA and ITRI.
