2024 Yushan Fellow Symposium: Celebrating Excellence and Collaboration

The 2024 Yushan Fellows Academic Symposium and Networking Event took place on November 22, 2024, at the NTUH International Convention Center in Taipei. Organized by the Ministry of Education and HEEACT, this annual event brought together Yushan Fellows from diverse fields to share their research, foster collaboration, and celebrate academic excellence.

This year’s symposium featured presentations from renowned scholars, showcasing groundbreaking work across various disciplines. Professor C.-T. James Huang, a leading linguist, shared insights into syntactic theory and Chinese linguistics, while Professor Takashi Gojobori highlighted advancements in evolutionary biology and comparative genomics. Professor Riichiro Saito discussed breakthroughs in carbon nanotube research, and Professor Fuh-Gwo Yuan presented innovations in structural health monitoring and engineering. These presentations sparked interdisciplinary discussions and inspired attendees with cutting-edge developments in their respective fields.

The event also included a special awards ceremony, recognizing the achievements of Yushan Fellows and Yushan Young Fellows. This recognition reflects the program’s commitment to fostering world-class research and supporting Taiwan’s position as a global leader in academia.
