2019 Talent Recruitment and Visits to Europe Focused on Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Introduction to the event
To recruit outstanding academic research talents from foreign countries into Taiwan’s higher education system, Political Deputy Minister Meng-Chi Liu of the Ministry of Education (MOE) personally led a group visit to Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom (UK) from September 14 to September 24. Political Deputy Minister Liu hosted overseas talent recruitment seminars for the Yushan (Young) Scholar Program in the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium, University College London (UCL), and the University of Oxford in the UK. Visits that focused on innovation and entrepreneurship topics were paid to local universities and research centers to recruit outstanding scholars who are willing to contribute their services to Taiwan’s higher education system and increase opportunities for higher education exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and Europe.
In addition to hosting Yushan (Young) Scholar Program overseas talent recruitment events in Belgium and the UK, Political Deputy Minister Liu of the MOE led the representatives of top Taiwan universities in visiting nine top universities and science parks in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK, namely KU Leuven, IMEC, High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Eindhoven University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam & Medical Center, Leiden University, Oxford University, Queen Mary University of London, and Imperial College London.
