Introduction to the event

Assistant Professor, Chao-Hui Yeh, joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University in 2022. In his specialized field, he took charge of mandatory courses at the Institute of Electronics Engineering, including "Solid-State Electronics Laboratory." Also, he taught "Solid State Electronics Laboratory" for undergraduates. He has established the Lab of Åtronics-Science & Matrix Computing for cutting-edge electronics design/fabrication in Engineering Building III. Furthermore, Prof. Yeh has set up an advanced computing center of deep learning in EECS Building, which started operating in the latter part of the 111th academic year.

His primary research focus is on nanotransistors/non-volatile memory for realizing the 3D-ICs hardware to meet all demands for abundant data processing. This research is coupled with the epitaxial growth techniques of 2D semiconductor materials, devices and the development of physics models. These efforts contribute to the design of hardware architectures necessary for next-generation neuromorphic computing.

In his first year of project execution, Assistant Professor Yeh devoted himself to developing nanotransistors, non-volatile memories, and corresponding physical models. He is preparing to present the outcomes in international journals and conferences in the following year. He has been invited to deliver academic talks at several domestic events. He has served as a reviewer for prestigious international SCI journals (Ex: American Chemical Society) and also a guest editor for MDPI journals. In the first year, the research team consisted of 12 members, and in the current phase, the second-year students have joined, expanding the team to 21 members. It is noted that this year, he supervised an undergraduate student, Cheng-You Wu, in his third year, who received a grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology for his undergraduate project on the topic of "Biosensors."
