Introduction to the event

 

The spread of infectious diseases is closely related to human movement, and the pattern of human movement can help infer the risk of disease transmission. Dr. Hsiao-Han Chang has experience in applying human mobility data to infectious diseases in the past. With the support of the Rapid Response Grant from Crisis Ready, USA, Dr. Chang and her collaborators organized and hosted the "Symposium on Human Mobility Data Implementation during Infectious Disease Outbreaks. " This symposium gathered experts from different sectors, including academics, public health agencies, and telecommunications companies, to share their experiences and discuss opportunities and challenges in applying mobility data during infectious disease outbreaks. The goal of the symposium was to discuss ways to provide useful data and analysis results for policy makers to make decisions in the future.
