The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Higher Education Evaluation & Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) co-hosted the annual 2025 Yushan Fellow Orientation on August 29,2025, warmly welcoming 33 new fellows into Taiwan’s higher education community as Yushan Fellows and Yushan Young Fellows.

During the event, Professor Yu-Wen Chen, PI of the Yushan Fellow Program, provided an overview of the program’s mission, objectives, and responsibilities. She also clarified the roles of the Ministry of Education and the program office, as well as the support and services available to the fellows.

The orientation featured experience-sharing by Associate Professor Pin-Chieh Wu from National Cheng Kung University and Assistant Professor Ping-Min Chen from National Taiwan University, who offered valuable insights into their journeys as Yushan Young Fellows, giving new fellows a clearer picture of program implementation.

In the afternoon session, two senior yushan young fellows led discussions with junior fellows on the themes of “Industry-Academia Collaboration and Research Resources” and “International Collaboration and Exchange”. These discussions fostered meaningful exchanges among participants and encouraged future professional collaboration.

The event concluded with positive feedback from the fellows, many of whom expressed that they had gained significant insights and were looking forward to their academic journey in Taiwan.
