2023 Yushan Fellow Program Orientation Empowers Yushan Fellows for Future Success

The orientation event guided the attendees through a day filled with insights and information. Hosted by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan and the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT), emphasized Taiwan's commitment to enhancing international academic capacity.
The centerpiece of the event was the Experience Sharing session, featuring esteemed fellows who illuminated the practical aspects of being a Yushan Fellow. Professors Takehiko Kitamori, Julia Shu-Hwa Wang, Andrew Cooper, and Ting-Wen Lan shared their experiences, insights on team organization, and provided crucial guidance for embarking on an academic journey. Meanwhile, Professor Yu-wen Chen played a pivotal role in shaping the content related to reimbursement procedures and addressing potential questions or challenges that may arise during the tenure of Yushan Fellows and Young Fellows.
The event also showcased the rich diversity of academic fields represented by the Yushan Fellows, further solidifying Taiwan's reputation as a hub of academic excellence. Young Fellows, the emerging leaders in their respective fields, were duly acknowledged for their significant contributions.
Deputy Director Hsueh-Cheng Liang of the Ministry of Education and President Der-Tsai Lee of HEEACT addressed the audience, underscoring the vital role of this orientation in equipping Yushan Fellows with the necessary tools and information for a successful and rewarding fellowship.
