Prof. Leonard K K Chan _ Establishment of the Research Center for Literary Thoughts and Discourses
Introduction to the event
Yushan Scholar Professor Leonard K K Chan collaborates with members of the research team, Prof. Tsai Ying-Chun, Dr Hsu Ming-Chuan and others, to set up the Research Center for Literary Thoughts and Discourses (RCLTD) since 17 December 2019.
The objectives of RCLTD are:
1. To integrate resources across departments and disciplines to foster an environment for high quality research of literary thoughts and discourses.
2. To organize academic seminars and lectures, international workshops and conferences, aiming to produce research outcomes of high impacts in the field.
3. To achieve synergy among researchers in the field and provide a platform for regional and international exchanges and collaboration.
RCLTD has invited leading scholars from around the world to deliver series of lectures on cutting edge areas of literary thoughts and discourses. These include Prof. Charles Laughlin (Professor of East Asian Studies, and Chair, Dept. of East Asian Languages, Literatures & Cultures, University of Virginia), Prof. Ronald Egan (Professor, East Asian Languages and Cultures, Stanford University) and Dr Chan Chi Tak (Associate Professor, Department of Literature and Cultural Studies, The Education University of Hong Kong). Besides, RCLTD is devoted to organizing reading clubs for graduate students and young scholars to broaden their horizons with new information and advanced knowledge of various disciplines.
